The Domaine les Pailles is situated in a large valley surrounded by imposing mountains, only a few kilometres south of Port Louis.

This large area includes a leisure park, laid out in the form of an open-air museum. The range of attractions, each presented in an original way, will resonate with every visitor. Families with children are particularly welcome. Visitors wishing to see all the attractions are advised to leave ample time.

The park offers a variety of experiences to the visitor:

Old colonial architecture.

Ox-carts bringing sugarcane to the historic sugar mill.

Journey by horse-drawn carriage across the large plantation to a hill offering a beautiful panorama of Mauritius.
If you are lucky on your excursion, you will discover a herd of deer or surprise a few monkeys.

Visitors can hire horses from the stables, and discover the remote corners of the Domaine les Pailles on horseback.
Off-road vehicles will take you on a tour off the beaten track.

The Domaine les Pailles spice garden and rum factory are also open to visitors.
A historic train offers a trip right across the whole area.

The area also offers some of the best restaurants in Mauritius, housed in beautiful old colonial houses.
