Climate in Mauritius
The climate in Mauritius is warm and summery throughout the year. There are two seasons in Mauritius: summers are hot and sultry (November to April) with temperatures up to 35°C and high humidity; winters, between May and October, are dry and somewhat cooler (highest temperature along the coast 28°C).
Persistent rain is rare in Mauritius. It is unlikely that it will rain persistently for more than three days in a row. A blue sky usually returns after an often very heavy shower. However, there is no guarantee that your holiday will be rain-free.
It is warm throughout the year — up to 5°C warmer in summer than in winter. It also rains throughout the year — more in summer than winter.

Cyclones in Mauritius
The weather in Mauritius varies greatly depending on the location.
While temperatures might climb to over 35°C in Port Louis on any given day, you should still take a rain coat and cardigan with you if going on an excursion through the highlands in Grand Bassin or Curepipe.
The north-west of Mauritius is the warmest area with the least rainfall; it is often windy on the east coast with more rain than in the west.
When visiting areas at a higher altitude, you should always take protective rain cover and a jacket with you, even if they are not always needed.
In the south-east there is a stiff breeze most of the year which attracts kite surfers to the beaches south of Le Morne.
